The first small group . . .
Jesus and His disciples formed one of the first small groups.
He met regularly and consistently with His followers with the
goal of building into their lives and for the purpose of mutual
edification. Christ called His group together after a time of
extended prayer (Luke 6:12-13).
Christ’s model for ministry is our model.
What is a small
group . . .
A small group is a gathering where people join together to
encourage one another and to grow up in their understanding
of Christ.
Small groups personally connect the riches of Christ with the
realities of everyday life (2 Corinthians 8:9).
A small group
consists of five to ten people that meet on a regular basis.
Why small groups . . .
In a small group, you can find the love and support you need
for difficult times. Accountability and positive peer pressure
invigorates your growth in Jesus as you mature spiritually,
emotionally, and socially.
Small groups function as living
organisms that grow and birth new groups. Talents and gifts
are used to the fullest
as
you become an active participant in the group.
A small
group cares and misses you when you are absent. There is no
better place to grow in your relationship
with others.
Reach out to others as you minister together
in
a small group.
